I greet you with grace and peace from our God in Christ. As we continue to monitor the rise in COVID-19 cases, we are working with local healthcare professionals to safeguard the health of congregants and community members and adjust our worship service protocols as needed. The current PCR positivity rate in the central VA area is above 15%, exceeding the original CDC recommended rate of 10% to continue in-person worship services. We have been advised by VCU’s Massey Cancer Director, Dr. Robert Winn, that the decreased severity of the virus, as well as improved treatment methods, permit us to continue in-person services. However, we must continue to exercise caution and maintain safety in person via the following protocols:

• Checking temperatures
• Wearing masks
• Vaccination requirements
• Maintaining social distancing
• Increased ventilation
• Hand sanitization
• Limited congregating inside our facilities

Additionally, we kindly ask that you complete the COVID Survey circulated earlier this week to help us gauge interest in maintaining in-person services. To date, nearly 66% of our congregation is comfortable continuing to worship in person. Therefore, we will return to in-person worship services this week. We ask that everyone continue to follow enforced protocols and the direction of church staff, including ushers and health ministry volunteers. Please document your vaccination status if you have not done so by completing the form below.
